The self-adjusting retention system features an elastomer insert that adjusts to the bottle diameter you’re using. The new design wraps the bottle higher up to increase grip maing it secure even over rougher surfaces and on high-speed descents. It also prevents annoying bottle/cage vibration.
The shape of the cage and elastomer adjuster also makes insertion and removal possible from both the front and side so no more fumbling to get the bottle in just the right place.
